Madhuri Dixit
Madhuri dixit is a popular Indian actress best recognized for her roles in the films Beta Saajan, and Hum Aapke Hai Koun, and Beta Saajan. Her career began in the 80s before coming to prominence with her performance in the film Tezaab in which she was a part of the cast alongside the veteran actor Anil Kapoor. The next film she appeared in was Dil where she starred alongside Aamir. In Mumbai her home, she grew up in a family of middle-class parents. As a child, she began to learn about stage, she was able to study dance. As a young woman, she started acting but had a difficult time as a majority films she made were not successful. She finally found success, and went on to be one of the most well-known actresses within the Indian film industry. The marriage of her mother led to a hiatus in her professional career. The actress returned in later years. Recently, she played a prominent part as a character in Gulaab Gang. The film was about struggles faced by women in India. Dixit was nominated 15 times for Filmfare Awards. She won eight of them. Padma Shri was awarded to her, which is India's fourth highest civil honor. In addition, she is known for her charitable works.
