The kidneys of her did not heal following the onset of a septic infection and had several organ failure. It was then a routine of hemodialysis and peritoneal dilution. After having spent 80 days in the hospital, she went from being close to death, and then a lengthy recovery path. Angelica had completed a one-year dialysis treatment and a half, was now ready for her biggest operation of all - a kidney replacement. Angelica would be receiving the donated kidney from her mother.
